Projecte BiSC (Barcelona Life Study Cohort) was a pioneering scientific initiative examining how urban environmental pollution affects fetal development.
Recruitment was a central part of the project’s success, as the team aimed to enroll over 1,200 pregnant women who were in their first trimester, highly motivated for long term follow-up and environmentally conscious. The recruitment process was designed to be empathetic and collaborative, emphasizing the social impact of participation.
Promotion efforts combined a campaign that ran on public transport and TV, as well as digital outreach with direct communication. It managed to raise awareness of the study and maintain engagement even during disruptions such as the COVID-19 pandemic. ESC
